Kagan, First Ammendment and Book Banning

What's there to say here in addition to what's in the audio clip? How can anyone who respects the concept of individual freedom, who cherishes the ability to say and write what one thinks without fear of government prosecution and intimidation have anything else but contempt for this woman and the man who nominated her?

If the above clip didn't bother you take a look at her expression when asked if by Congressman Coburn if Congress could dictate what people eat everyday.

Just Being a Smart Ass

After Biden gets his custard, he asks the store manager how much he owes him.
“Lower our taxes and we’ll call it even,” the manager replied.

I don't know about the exchange (did he respond to the store manager at the time) I won't read Biden's mind; but it is one more misstep by Biden.

I wonder if Biden would be called "the smartest man in the room" if he was a Republican.

A great political ad - Clint Webb

Is this a spoof or for real?

Looking around, it must be a spoof. I cannot find a Clint Webb website anywhere.

Tim Scott WINS! (SC-1)

If you thought that William Randall's victory was remarkable -- Tim Scott has won (68-32)and he is the odd's on favorite to win in the fall. A black Republican has beaten Strom Thurmond's son IN South Carolina.

This BLACK MAN

beat this WHITE MAN.

William Randall beats Bernie Reeves

William Randall is the Republican nominee for NC-13. With 100% of the vote in Randall won with 59% of the vote (June 22, 2010 runoff). Things are changing fast, a black man beats a white man in the Republican primary in North Carolina. IF this doesn't show you that black people have a chance, and are respected by Republicans, what are you waiting for? Elect this man.

Nero and the Oil Spill

Now that we have Obama claiming the esteemed position as America's Nero what will the pseudo-intellectuals in the media be saying? Will they, as Bob Herbert did with the banking collapse, blame the oil spill and the lack of an effective response on laissez-faire capitalism?

Just last week President Obama said that the BP oil spill was like 9-11 and that we would have to take like measures to protect ourselves. What has he done? Put a moratorium on drilling and has sent barely one percent of our oil skimmer boats to deal with the problem (20 out of 2,000)

Keep fiddling Mr. President. As Nero - apocryphally - let the fire burn in order to direct public anger against Christians so, it seems, that Obama is doing much the same. Let the damages increase and direct public anger against oil companies (and capitalism, and anybody that wants America to be self-sufficient in energy).
