"Repealing this [Obama Care] is not the answer in my opinion."That statement caused Lisa Murkowski to be repealed from the US Senate.

Lesson learned from the Alaskan Republican Primary
The lesson learned from Lisa Murkowski's primary loss to Joe Miller was not simply that Palin is a major force in the Republican Party it is that Obamacare must go.

Iroquois Passport Dispute
It's stupid to the pont of meaningless to conceive of Native American Sovereignty as equivalent to a nation-state. As sympathetic as I am to the plight of 16-19th C Native Americans I am not at all sympathetic to the 20th/21stC idea of having a nation-state within a nation-state.
Do we want to negate real estate taxes. YES absolutely. We should also remove the Federal income tax, or at least give a large yearly deduction, something like $1,000,000. But sovereignty? No.

Tim Scott will win SC-1 in November
In many ways it's hard to grasp, but it's so. There will be at least one Black Republican Congressmen elected this November. Tim Scott will (should) win this fall. This Congressional District is very red, Henry Brown has held it since 2000 taking over from then Congressman Mark Sanford when Sanford retired to run for the Governor's Office. It has been held by Republicans since 1980.
Just a few days ago Tim Scott became the Republican nominee, beating Strom Thurmond's son no less.
Henry Brown won
2000 – 60%
2002 – 90%
2004 – 88%
2006 – 60%
2008 - 52%
The 2008 number was close, not because fewer Republicans voted for him but because Democratic numbers were so much higher than usual. This district is 73% white and 20% black. Scott has raised over a half a million dollars while Ben Frasier has raised less than $10,000.
As the great sage says, "it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings," still, I can't wait until November.
