Martha Coakley and the First Ammendment

If for no other reason I'm dead set against Coakley for the following statement

INTERVIEWER: In the emergency room you still have your religion freedom.
COAKLEY: The law says that people are allowed to have that and so then you can have religious freedom...

In response to a First Amendment right she states "The law says that people are allowed to have that..." This is more than simply law; this is a case of fundamental rights not a matter of a speed limit where there are no Constitutional ramifications if the speed limit is set at 30 or 35 miles an hour.  Basic individual freedom is a central aspect of being an American.

We are a free people who have set limits on what our government can or cannot do. Imagine if Bush or Cheney had said "the laws says that people are allowed to have that ..." in regard to the 5th Amendment. Image the outcry.

Why is there no outcry here?
